Biography

Mr. Lynch is a life-long Bethesda, Maryland resident and a 1977 graduate of the Landon School. Mr. Lynch attended Villanova University and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History in 1981. He then attended St. Mary's University Law School in San Antonio, Texas and received his law degree in 1985. 

Following graduation, Mr. Lynch worked as an associate at a DC firm where he focused on corporate formation of nationwide Health Maintenance Organizations. In 1987, he went to work for the American Trucking Associations ("ATA") where he rose to become the Executive Director of the National Freight Claims Council. At ATA, Mr. Lynch also served as a national guest speaker for groups whose drivers would be affected by the implementation of the Commercial Driver's License (CDL). ATA was instrumental in the successful implementation of this nationwide safety initiative. 

In 1991, Mr. Lynch joined Macleay, Lynch, & Lapidus P.C. He became a partner at the firm in 1995. His experience at the firm has covered a broad range of civil litigation including race and employment discrimination, premises liability, automobile negligence and insurance coverage issues related to the leased vehicle industry. 

Mr. Lynch has been cited by Super Lawyers and was recently listed in America's Top 100 Civil Defense Litigators. Macleay, Lynch & Lapidus has been named, on multiple occasions, as a Best Law Firm by U.S. News and World Report. 

Mr. Lynch has served as lead counsel and second-chair counsel in dozens of trials pending in the District of Columbia Courts. He also participated in over ninety Binding Arbitrations in a variety of forums, frequently obtaining favorable and cost-effective results for the Firm's clients. He has successfully defended appeals before the District of Columbia Court of Appeals in the areas of defamation, premises liability and motor vehicle negligence. Mr. Lynch was recruited to serve as a member of the Paralegal Studies Program Focus Group at the George Washington University with seven other Washington area attorneys. The purpose of the group is to study emerging trends in the Washington, D.C. Paralegal Market.

Mr. Lynch is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association (1985), the District of Columbia Bar Association (1989), the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia (1991), the Maryland Bar Association (2018) and most recently, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit (2021).
